Privacy policy
Last updated August 31, 2026
Privacy, provenance, customer boundaries, and permitted use are part of how Applied Work designs technical delivery.
Data should remain accountable
Information should remain connected to a defined purpose, approved source, responsible party, and retention decision. Project information remains subject to the customer agreement, approved environment, and permitted-use plan.
Purpose limitation. Information is collected and used for a stated website, relationship, security, or project purpose.
Customer isolation. Project information remains within the approved engagement boundary and permitted-use plan.
Individual control. We provide access to applicable privacy rights and do not retaliate for exercising them.
Who we are and what this policy covers
This policy covers personal information processed by Applied Work through this website, business relationships, contributor and applicant communications, and Applied Work services.
A customer agreement, data processing addendum, project specification, or participant notice may provide more specific terms. Where those terms apply, they govern that processing.
Information we collect
We may process business contact details, account or access data, communications, support history, professional background, assessment and payment administration data, and standard request or security logs produced by our hosting and communications providers.
Authorized project information may include task specifications, repositories, environments, prompts, trajectories, work artifacts, reviewer decisions, provenance records, and evidence required to evaluate or accept the work. We process project data only within the applicable agreement and approved plan.
Sources and purposes
Information may come from you, your organization, an authorized customer or platform, approved public or licensed sources, and service providers supporting our operations. We use it to respond to inquiries, manage professional relationships, deliver authorized work, maintain provenance and review records, secure systems, administer payments, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations.
Where required, processing relies on consent, performance of a contract, compliance with law, or legitimate interests assessed against individual rights. Consent can be withdrawn for future processing where consent is the applicable basis.
Disclosure and customer data
We may disclose information to the customer or organization that authorized the work, personnel who need it for an approved role, service providers operating under appropriate obligations, professional advisers, authorities when legally required, or a successor in a legitimate corporate transaction.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Customer data is not used to train a general model, resold, or repurposed for an unrelated customer unless a separate written agreement expressly authorizes that use. This website does not currently use advertising cookies.
Expert work and captured evidence
Work evidence must serve a stated project purpose, come from an approved source, and remain subject to correction and review. Screen, workflow, audio, video, biometric, or physical-environment capture requires specific authorization, clear participant terms, appropriate compensation, and project-specific safety and privacy controls. We do not use covert workplace surveillance.
Retention, security, and international transfers
We retain information for the stated purpose and for applicable contractual, security, dispute, accounting, and legal requirements. Retention and deletion terms for customer projects are defined in the engagement plan. We use measures proportionate to the information and document engagement-specific controls on our Security page.
Information may be processed in countries other than where it was collected. When applicable law requires a transfer mechanism, we use contractual or other recognized safeguards appropriate to the transfer.
Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and our relationship, you may have the right to know or access personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent, appeal a denied request, or complain to a regulator. California residents may have additional rights under applicable law.
Not every right applies in every circumstance. We may verify your identity, request authority from an agent, and retain information where an exception applies. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable right.
Children, changes, and contact
Our website and services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information through this website. We may update this policy as our services and legal obligations evolve.
Questions and rights requests can be sent to privacy@appliedwork.ai. You may also lodge a complaint with the privacy or data protection regulator responsible for your location.
